Since we stopped riding 3 weeks ago, we took a week to drive from Bend, OR to Indiana, PA where we spent another week recovering. In that time, we applied for a few jobs and realized that we can wait for a reply from anywhere. So, we packed the Audi with our camping gear, threw the bikes on the roof, and headed out...again.

The first stop was Lititz, PA (Chads home) to celebrate the Fourth of July with his family. After a four-day visit, we set out today to begin our journey to the New England states. Now that we don’t have weight restrictions, we added a Coleman screen room and two chairs to our camping setup. We’ve also brought along a cast iron and some food so that we can cook.

We found Hartwick Highlands campground on the outskirts of Cooperstown, and it couldn’t be more delightful. When we made the reservation, we asked for a quiet, wooded site, and that’s exactly what we got. Surrounded by tall trees of some sort (we aren’t botanists), the only sound you can hear is the wind rustling through the leaves. It’s incredibly relaxing.
